Needlework Group

The Needlework Group’s purpose is to glorify God through needles and hooks. Members use their gifts to turn yarn into “strokes of love and care” in the form of Chemo caps, Prayer Shawls, Prayer Blankets, Stocking caps, Mittens and Scarves. Each year this Group creates hundreds of items, most of which are donated to various Cancer organizations and given out through our Food Bank. Left over yarn is crocheted into Granny Square Throws, which are given to Family Promise of Spokane. Recipients are blessed to have the beautiful creations that help to lift their spirits during some very hard days.

The group meets each Wednesday at 10:00 am in the Church Parlor.

Everyone is welcomed to join, regardless of ones knitting abilities. Simply bring your needles, yarn, and a desire to learn.

Art Group

Each participant of the Art Group brings their own project and materials to work on. They enjoy their time together in fellowship with one another and in the joy of learning and creating.

The group meets on the 1st & 3rd Mondays at 9:00 am in the Church Conference room. All experience levels and mediums are invited to join.

Dominoes Group

The Dominoes group meets once a month for food, fellowship, and dominoes. You do not need to know how to play to join this group.  Contact the office for more information.

Quilt Ministry

The purpose of the Quilt Ministry is to provide fellowship with one another and to support the community through our love of quilting. We believe “nothing is wasted in God’s economy” and strive to create beautiful, useable quilts from donated fabric – the making of something from nothing.

While we enjoy working on our own quilts, each year many of the quilts are donated to:

  • The Audubon Park Youth Auction
  • UMW Bazar
  • Cancer Care Northwest for clients receiving treatments
  • The “My Bag” program for children in foster care
  • Special projects for our community and other national and international organizations.

The Quilters meet each Tuesday from 9:30 - noon in room 303 on the second floor. There is no experience or materials needed to get started. We have patterns, scrap fabric, machines and experience that we would love to share with you.
